How I work

Safety, privacy and AI use

01

How I Use AI

My imagery is real. Every pixel in my photos and video comes from the camera. I don't use generative AI to create, fill in, extend, or replace any part of an image. My editing is limited to traditional adjustments like color correction, exposure, contrast, tone curves, graduated and neutral density filtering, noise reduction, and cropping.

Stitched images and 3D models. For stitched overhead images and 3D models, I use photogrammetry software that calculates geometry from overlapping photos. It's math, not generative AI. Where coverage is thin, such as water, dense canopy, or uniform surfaces, the software estimates small gaps from the surrounding measured data rather than inventing content. I'm happy to point out those areas in any project deliverable.

Where I do use AI

Running a small business takes a lot of hats, and I use AI tools for the administrative side: graphic design, web design, social media captions, and general research. I also use it for custom hardware and software design work. They help me do more with limited time, and I review everything before it goes out.

Questions about how a specific deliverable was produced? I'm happy to walk you through it.

02

Your Privacy

Your property stays private. I won't share images, video, or maps of your property without your permission. That includes my portfolio, social media, and ads.

Your information stays private. I won't share your contact information or project details without your permission, except with service providers who help me deliver your work, like payment processing and file delivery.

What I publish. Before anything goes public, I review it for anything someone might consider sensitive. I avoid publishing identifiable people, and I strip all metadata, including GPS location, from every published image.

Marketing footage. Sometimes I capture extra footage during a job for my own marketing, like sky and landscape shots or my aircraft in flight. Anything that shows or identifies your property stays out of it unless you've said yes.

Questions or special requirements? Just ask. I'm happy to work within your policies.

03

Safety and Legal

I follow FAA rules on every flight. I'm an FAA-certificated remote pilot and operate under current FAA regulations, with no exceptions. That covers airspace authorization, Remote ID, altitude limits, and keeping the aircraft in sight.

Permission. Please confirm you have the authority to approve a flight at your property. Some locations, like parks and managed communities, have their own drone rules in addition to FAA rules, and I'll flag any I find when I check your site.

Airspace and restricted areas. I check airspace as part of every quote. Some locations, such as near airports or under temporary restrictions, need advance authorization. A few areas require a long approval process or can't be flown at all. If your site is one of them, I'll tell you up front, along with how it affects timing and cost.

People. I don't fly directly over people. On site, I may ask that people stay clear of the takeoff and landing area and the flight path.

Private spaces. I don't point the camera into windows or private areas of anyone else's property. On your property, I capture what the job calls for, like a fenced pool area for a listing, and nothing more.

Weather and conditions. I have hard limits on wind, visibility, precipitation, and temperature. If conditions aren't safe, I'll reschedule with you rather than push it.

The pilot's call. The pilot is ultimately responsible for the safety of every flight. If I judge that a job can't be done safely, I may postpone or decline it.

Sensitive sites. I don't capture close-up or detailed imagery of sensitive facilities, such as utility and other critical infrastructure. If one appears in the distance of a wider shot, at no more detail than public satellite imagery shows, that's fine, and I review it before anything is published.

Insured. I carry liability insurance for my flight operations. Certificates are available on request.
